The ipod touch is a completely new version of the ipod that has many aspects of the iphone. It comes with either8, 16, or 32 gb memory sizes. It has a large screen and an accelerometer. It controls wether the screen is horizantally or vertically oriented depending on the way you are holding it. The ipod touch can browse the web and play videos off youtube as well as being an mp3 player.

When jailbroken the ipod touch can have amazing third party applications that vary from games to stock trackers. Special programs are needed to jailbreak 1.1.4, 2.0 and 2.0.1 but it is very easy. On 2.0.1 firmware the ipod touch has the app store which is very nice and has lots of stuff but can be expensive.

How to Jailbreak 1.1.4

This process is easy and not one ipod has been hurt by it yet even when people really mess it up.

1. Upgrade to firmware 1.1.4 if you havent already in itunes.

2. Download Ziphone. Scroll down and click on the big lettering that says download ziphone. If you run on os then scroll down and click on the picture with the apple, if you run on windows click on the one with the vista symbol.

3. Once you have downloaded it go into the the folder and click on the orange lock icon a window should pop up.

4. If you have an ipod touch click on the button that says jailbreak and in smaller lettering ipod touch supported.

5. Make sure your ipod is plugged in and white lettering and pictures will begin to flash across the screen. At the end a picture will show up and your ipod may shut on and off when you are sure your ipod is done and it doesn't turn off automatically, wait 2 minutes and then turn it on and off by holding the lock and menu key down until the ipod reboots.

6. You should have a new icon on your screen when your ipod turns on that says installer. If not restore your ipod in 1.1.4 and try again. Do not upgrade to 2.0.

How to Jailbreak 2.0/2.0.1

If on windows open up WinPwn (you can download it in jailbreaking files) if using a mac open up pwnagetool 2.0.1(you can download it in jailbreaking files) Install it. Once done installing go and click on the shortcut. Make sure your ipod touch is plugged in!!! After that go and follow the simple instructions in the application. At the end it should show the Installer icon on your screen. If so you're done. If not contact meor read the readme. Good Luck!!!
